LET US VOTE!

SJSU Votes! and the Institute for Public Affairs and Civic Engagement (IPACE) co-sponsored “Let Us Vote! A Conversation about SJSU Activism and the 26th Amendment”. The event, held via Zoom, on October 19th, featured Dr. Jennifer Frost, University of Auckland Department of History and SJSU alum Mr. Les Francis (B.A. ’65, secondary teaching credential ’66). Mr. Francis was one of the original organizers of the national campaign to lower the voting age to 18. Dr. Frost is the author of Let Us Vote: Youth Voting Rights and the 26th Amendment. Opening remarks were made by Dr. Glen Genzel, Chair of the SJSU Department of History and the event was moderated by Maureen Dela Cueva, SJSU Votes! intern. About 40 people attended this truly excellent event!
